Course Overview
Students develop and explore skills using Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom tablet to create original artworks such as matte paintings, concept art, image editing and manipulation to create collages, edited photos and computer drawings. Students also investigate other practitioners and their work, as well as appraising and analysing artworks.
Opportunities for students include:
- using a Wacom tablet and stylus to create a range of artworks using Photoshop
- working on individual tasks ranging from landscape to character development and fantasy environments
- using the computer to paint and draw
- resizing graphics, selecting parts of images and creating collages and images from scratch.
Students will work through a range of exercises and tutorials before completing individual practical tasks and a practical study of an artist.

Further Information
Students should have basic computer literacy. No previous experience with software used in the course is necessary.
This subject is recommended for SACE Stage 1 Design or SACE Stage 2 Creative Arts.
