Course Overview

Students develop an appreciation and awareness of their role as a citizen in the Australian legal system. They will look at topics such as where our laws come from, the concept of justice, civil and criminal law, the adversary system of trial and young people and the law. Students will collaborate to prepare a mock trial presentation and consider how diverse groups in society influence, and are influenced by our legal system.

Further Information

Stage 1 Legal Studies is a pathway to Stage 2 Legal Studies. It is recommended that students take Stage 1 Legal Studies before Stage 2 but it is not a prerequisite.
