Exercise Tips

Exercise can reduce your risk of many lifestyle diseases. It can also improve your mood, give you more energy, help you relax and sleep better. Aim for 30 minutes of exercise a day. Mix and match these exercises to create a total body workout.

1.  Choose 10 different exercises – Choose a combination of higher intensity and lower intensity exercises.
2.  Choose the length of each exercise – Beginners might start with 10-30 seconds or 8-16 reps, while intermediate or advanced exercisers might go for 60-90 seconds or 20 or more reps.
3.  Get Ready – Set up a timer, turn on some music or your favourite TV show and start with a warm-up.
4.  The Workout – Do 1 circuit if you’re a beginner or short on time. Do 2-5 circuits for a more intense workout.

Higher Intensity

Jumping Jacks
Burpees
Squats
Squat jumps
Push ups
Sit ups
Mountain Climbers

Lower Intensity

Marching on spot
Lunges
Superman
Plank
Side plank
Glute bridge
Ankle Taps
