Students respond to a range of texts that instruct, engage, challenge, inform, and connect readers. They consider information, ideas, and perspectives represented in the chosen texts, The Great Gatsby, Wake in Fright and documentaries. Students also create their own texts through procedural, imaginative, analytical, interpretive, or persuasive writing appropriate to their chosen context. Students are free to explore their own interests outside of the class texts through a language study.
