Course Overview
Students develop media literacy and production skills by critically observing media practice, media texts and through creating media products. They focus on local, national and global media issues and concepts.
Students explore aspects of the Media (Mainstream, Digital and Social media) including how images, sounds and words are combined for effect, how social issues and cultural ideas are communicated, and how audiences are influenced by Media texts.
Students also work, both individually and in small groups, to create Media products for a range of purposes and audiences. These might include topics such as: Youth in Media, Music in Media, Film or Advertising.
